Elmo Hood, AKA Elliot Hood (British, Born 1989)
Self taught artist Elmo Hood was born in Southampton, but now lives in London, immersing himself in the city's burgeoning art scene.
His huge success followed a social media post in 2013 of one of his playing card creations. It was extensively shared and consequently went viral gaining millions of views as well as a large celebrity following.
Hood now exhibits in many galleries internationally, including a London solo exhibition, and has featured in many publications including US Glamour Magazine, GQ, Wall Street International and Arts Illustrated.
The artist donates a lot of his work to good causes; his art has a permanent place at the Duchess of York's cancer unit in Southampton General Hospital and has been included in a charity exhibition in the House of Commons, where his work raised thousands of pounds.
Hood's work also currently features as a stage backdrop to Mary J. Blige's King and Queen of Hearts World Tour.
