Penel Kirk
Penel Kirk is a fine Artist born in Buckinghamshire in 1965 and brought up in the grounds of Stowe School, a beautiful setting of lakes and temples.
After completing an Art Foundation Course at Farnham, West Surrey Kirk gained a degree in Fashion and Textiles at St Martins School of Art in 1988.
Working as a textile designer in London, Hong Kong and India she finally set up a design studio in Melbourne Australia where she lived and worked for six years.
Returning to England in 2000 she decided to work as a fine artist alongside her commercial work and between 2005 and 2007 she also taught at The London College of Fashion.
She has been commissioned many times, enjoying the challenge to paint in the style and medium favoured by the client. She enjoys using intense images to create a feeling of abundance.
Kirk has been chosen twice to exhibit by the Society of Women Artists, under the patronage of Princess Michael of Kent, at the prestigious Mall Galleries, London.
